Review of Residence, 47 Minto StAs a history teacher from Shanghai with a keen enthusiasm for exploring diverse cultures, my recent stay at Residence, 47 Minto St offered a pragmatic view of budget travel in Edinburgh. The hotel is conveniently located, allowing easy access to the city's rich historical sites, a feature I appreciated considering my passion for the Mediterranean's historical tapestry. During our stay, we occupied rooms 6 and 8. Room 6, while compact, was suitable for four, aligning with our expectations based on prior reviews. Room 8, surprisingly spacious, did require some adjustments to achieve a comfortable temperature, but the responsive management ensured that our needs were promptly addressed. The amenities included a flat-screen TV and essential tea and coffee facilities, enhancing our overall experience. The lack of on-site staff, an elevator, or a refrigerator in the rooms raises some concerns regarding convenience for travelers who prioritize luxury. While the rooms were adequately furnished and equipped with free toiletries, the dim lighting and limited space could use improvement. Residence, 47 Minto St offers good value for its location and basic amenities, making it a wise choice for budget-conscious travelers. It serves as a modest gateway to Edinburgh without compromising on access to the city's rich historical offerings.
